Urban Decay ~ Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows

When Disney called to ask if Urban Decay would design a product for the launch of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, they were like, “Um….yes!” The result is this truly amazing (and seriously collectible) Book of Shadows. Tucked inside a hidden drawer are 16 best-selling Eyeshadows, given topsy-turvy names like White Rabbit, Jabberwocky, and Oraculum. Alongside them lie travel sizes of Eyeshadow Primer Potion and two 24/7 Eye Pencils. From smoky neutral eyes to flashes of hallucinogenic green and purple, the looks you can create are as endless as the rabbit hole itself. The top opens to reveal a pop-up scene of Alice in the mushroom forest. Her “drink me” bottle discarded, she staggers past towering mushrooms, only to cross paths with a very peculiar, hookah-smoking caterpillar. A large mirror rests behind the scene, making you feel as if you are transported into the film itself. Anyone who loves Urban Decay, Tim Burton, Disney, or Alice in Wonderland absolutely MUST have this palette. Even the Mad Hatter would say this Book of Shadows delivers it all.

cakedoo1 says… What can I say that hasn’t been said? This palette is amazing – the inspiration is whimsical and perfect for an eye palette. When I think if Alice in Wonderland – I think of wonder and fantasy.. This palette represents the inventive imagination that I am talking about.. The colors are full of depth and have amazing staying power.. I can’t get over the range – there are so many color combinations that I haven’t even tried yet.. The palette is perfect for the true artists that are creative but still great for the novice. I fall in between that parameter.. I have been using a couple colors in different combinations everyday since I received! There is only one color that doesn’t work for me – I love the color but on me, just makes me looks washed out.. I don’t want to tell you which on in case it’s your favorite! 🙂 I would rather keep this to an overview of the entire package..I find all of the colors to work together – I haven’t come across a combination that I can’t pull off, the great pigment allows me to apply a very small amount and get a great eye wash or go deep and get a really nice smoky effect. I wear everyday so it’s great for day use and even more amazing for the evening! I use the enclosed primer every morning too – I think this prolongs the wear and really helps with the creasing and fading.. The deeper the color the more reliant I am on the primer.. I swear but it, can’t apply without.. If I am going to spend the time to apply well then I want to ensure the looks stays put and Primer potions comes through time and time again!Curiouser is by far my favorite color.. It’s a perfect purple – not to deep and not too light – just right and its got some nice sparkle to it, so with my hazel eyes it makes them bright and pulls out the green within.. All of the colors within are modern and fresh and perfect for the upcoming spring/ summer season but are versatile enough to bring you right back to the winter months.. There are colors for everyone within.. It’s my favorite and I love the Pop-Up.. Urban Decay was the perfect choice for Disney to approach – I can’t think of a better collaboration…. Well maybe… peanut butter & chocolate!
