Dianna Agron at the UNICEF’s Next Generation’s 2nd Annual UNICEF Masquerade Ball hair & makeup #howtoguide

“The look was inspired by Ellen Von Unwerth.  We wanted to create a look that was playful but classic, with a soft airy texture.  I also wanted to counter balance the strong lines of her dress and the fullness of the skirt.  We decided to go with this modern french twist.”

“I began by spraying her damp hair with R+CO One Prep Spray $20.00.

Next I applied Oribe Grandiose Mousse $35.00 to the roots.

Taking one inch sections, I blow dried hair away from the face using a Harry Josh Dryer $300.00 on the ION setting and a small Paul Mitchell Express Brush to lift and set the roots.  I clipped sections in place to cool.
I sprayed hair with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray $42.00 and pulled the sections behind the ears into a french twist.

I secured it with bobby pins and sprayed with Oribe Superfine Hair Spray $32.00.

Next I unclipped the remaining sections and used my finger to rake through hair.  I backcombed sections as needed for volume and detailed pieces around the face.  I finished with one last spray of Oribe Superfine Hairspray.”
“For Dianna at the UNICEF Masquerade Ball we needed to have some drama in her eyes.  A little Halloween magic and a cool sexy vibe.  So we smoked up those eyes so they would pierce through her mask later in the night.”

“I prepped her skin with La Prairie Cellular Cream Platinum Rare $700.00

and IS Clinical Eye Youth Complex.
I evened out her skin with Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick $80.00.
To set the base and give the perfect finish, I powdered with La Mer The Powder $65.00.  I used Chanel Poudre Illuminating Powder on the cheek bones to give her a glow.
On the apples of her cheeks I used Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour $26.00 in Spiced Cider.
For an all over bronze I used Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder $40.00 in Medium.
The focus was all on her eyes, so I started by using M·A·C ‘Mineralize’ Eyeshadow $22.00 in Cinderfella on the lid up to the crease of the eye, dampening my brush so the color became very intense.
I then went over the top of this with MAC Illusion d’ombre in Mirifique to add more sparkle to the eye.  I lined the eye and inner rim win Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner $24.00 in Black and then for a little drama I popped a little of Chanel Illusion d’ombre in Fantasme on the bottom inner corner of the eye to really open up the eyes and make them shine.
I applied two layers of Kevyn Aucoin Beauty ‘The Essential’ Mascara $32.00 in Black and individual Stilazzi Lashes for added length and depth.

I finished off her eyes by defining her brows with Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Brow Pencil – Warm Blonde $26.00.

On her lips I used Laura Mercier Lip Pot in Shy Pink, one of my favorite nudes.
Finally, I dusted Laura Mercier Mineral Illuminating Powder $34.00 in Candlelight on her décolleté for warmth and glow.”
